Orthodontics
Why are we concerned about the position of teeth?
Most people would like to have nice looking ‘straight’ teeth
because it improves their appearance. But did you realise that the position
of the teeth and jaw ALSO affects your health! Believe it or not your bite
influences many other systems in the body such as breathing, swallowing,
speech, hearing and most importantly posture. In fact, the bad bite or malocclusion
may have originated from as far away as the feet. This is why orthodontics
where the whole body pattern is taken into account is very important for
long term health and well-being. A ‘bad bite’ means far more
than crooked teeth. It can be a reflection of headaches, migraines, neck
pain, back pain, sore knees and even bad foot posture. |

Our dentists have been successfully treating these ailments (whilst straightening
teeth at the same time) for over a decade. In fact, through this treatment
protocol, we have probably prevented many of these symptoms developing in
later life. |
